No subscription. Two lines on the receipt, both in the open.

You pay what the route costs us, with no spread of ours on top of it. When you top up credit we add 5%, plus $0.35 to cover card processing — two separate lines on the receipt, never buried in the token price. Bring your own provider keys and both go away. There is no monthly fee, no seat count and nothing to cancel.

Enterprise

For high volume, and for finance teams that need to talk to a person.

Talk to us
  • The same gateway — nothing here is locked behind this column
  • A top-up percentage below 5%, agreed in writing at volume
  • 0% on everything you serve with your own provider keys
  • A hard account ceiling, so a pilot cannot overrun its budget
  • A direct line to the person who wrote the routing layer

Still a balance, not a subscription — the negotiation is about the percentage, not a licence. SSO, SCIM, data residency and private deployment do not exist yet; ask us before you plan around them.

These are three ways to pay, not three products. Every feature is on for every account — the only thing that changes is whether the top-up fee applies at all, and at volume, what the percentage is.

Estimate

What a month actually costs

Three shapes of workload, priced from the same catalogue the gateway bills against. Nothing to add for a subscription, because there is not one.

Every cent of the token cost goes upstream — to the provider, and on a route reached through OpenRouter, to them as well. None of it is ours. The platform fee is the only money Multigrid keeps, and it is charged when you buy the credit, not when you spend it. There is no monthly fee to add to any of these rows.

The processing column assumes one top-up in the month, which is the cheapest case. It is $0.35 each time you add credit, so funding a month in four instalments costs $1.40 rather than $0.35. Topping up in larger, less frequent amounts is genuinely cheaper, and it is the only part of this page where that is true.

On BYOK you pay the provider directly under your own contract and we take no percentage at all — the last column is the same workload with our fee removed entirely.

Bring your own keys — 0%

Add your own provider keys and no percentage applies. You keep your negotiated rates and committed spend, and we charge you nothing at all on that traffic.

Prepaid credits

Credit is never added automatically. You top up manually, and you can set a balance level that sends a low-balance alert — but requests start failing when the balance runs out. The 5% and the $0.35 are both charged at top-up and both itemised on the receipt. Credits never expire and are refundable minus payment processing.

Hard spend caps

Per key, per project or account-wide. When the cap is hit, requests are rejected — not queued and billed.

Details

Every line, compared

Not a feature ladder — the same platform, billed three ways. Where a row is crossed it is crossed in all three columns, because nothing here is gated behind a plan: it means the feature does not exist yet, not that you need to pay more for it.

Why the fee is on top-up, not on tokens

We take no spread of our own on the per-token rate, and we never will — our cut is taken once, visibly, when you add credit. The alternative most gateways choose is a quiet margin on the token rate, which is impossible to check and gets worse as you scale.

What you are billed is what the route costs us. For the five providers we hold a direct key with — OpenAI, Anthropic, Groq, Together and DeepInfra — that is their published price, unchanged, to four decimal places. Most of the catalogue is reached through OpenRouter instead, and we pay for those in OpenRouter credit, which costs a dollar plus 5.5%. A route they list at $10.00 per million therefore costs us $10.55, and $10.55 is what the catalogue shows. The 5.5% is theirs, it is inside the rate you can see, and we add nothing to it.

The honest consequence, before you find it yourself: for a model that reaches you only through OpenRouter, we cannot be cheaper than OpenRouter — their fee sits underneath ours. What you get there is the breadth of the catalogue on one balance. The zero-spread advantage is real on the five providers above, and it grows every time one more of them is keyed directly.

The $0.35 beside it is card processing, passed through rather than marked up. Stripe charges 2.9% + $0.30 on the whole amount, and that fixed 30 cents swallows the entire margin on a small top-up: at our $5 minimum a percentage-only fee would lose us money on every transaction. Passing the fixed part through is what makes small top-ups possible at all.

It does mean the effective rate is worst at the bottom — $5.60 to buy $5 of credit is 12%, against 5.35% on $100. If you are only trying the product, top up the minimum and ignore this; if you are running it, top up in larger amounts less often.

If you would rather pay us nothing at all, bring your own provider keys. Both lines go to zero and there is no monthly fee behind them — the routing, caching, guardrails and audit trail work identically either way.

Check the arithmetic before you spend anything

Every price above is what that route costs us, and every fee is a line you can hold against a receipt. Add $10 of credit — $10.85 on the card — point one endpoint at Multigrid, and see whether the per-request costs match what you expected.
